I serve as the College and Career Advisor for Kenwood High School! This is my third school year in this capacity. I graduated from KHS in 2009 and earned by BS in Health and Human Performance from Austin Peay State University in 2015. I thoroughly enjoy assisting young people in reaching their potential.
My goal is to assist in Senior students post-secondary planning, whether this consists of attending a major university, community college, joining the military or joining the workforce, I am here to provide my expertise on how to achieve these goals! Throughout the year, I will assist with TN Promise, scholarships, college applications, FAFSA, and answer any questions you may have regarding post graduation planning.

First Semester:

  • Postsecondary planning session with all Senior students to discuss current plans for life after graduation. This can include college (2-or 4-year), trade school (TCAT), workforce, or military aspirations.
  • All eligible Seniors will complete the TN Promise application by the November 1 deadline. This is not a promise that your Senior will attend college. This is a back up plan in case your student changes their mind from now until graduation about pursuing higher education.
  • All eligible Seniors will complete one college application. If your student does not want to attend college, I am willing to help with completing a job application in lieu of college applications.
  • Juniors will participate in Junior College Planning Night. This allows for 11th grade students to engage in conversation early with college admissions representatives to gain insight on admission regulations such as GPA & ACT requirements, tuition cost, and academics/majors available at certain institutions.

  • Note: FAFSA is making changes and will not open in October this year. FAFSA completion and assistance will be given second semester!
