The STEM Academy at Kenwood High School will cultivate mature and creative thinkers who apply critical thinking skills mastered through engaging and enriching cross-curricular integration.
Students in the academy will experience an integrated approach to twenty-first century skills through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics integration across all core classes. A STEM Academy education will increase student engagement by transforming the traditional classroom through an emphasis on problem-based learning. Student learning will be focused on inquiry, problem solving and real-world applications of learning. STEM instruction will lay the foundation for success by preparing students to be college and career ready.
As technology integration is one of the foundations of this academy, all students admitted to the Academy will be issued a laptop computer for use both inside and outside of school.
